Kugel, also known as noodle pudding, is a traditional dish often served at Jewish holiday dinners. From sweet, like raisin and almond, to savory, like potato leek, there are a wide range of adaptations to the favorite dish.
With Rosh Hashana and the beginning of the Jewish New Year just a few days away, many are gearing up to cook all of their family's favorite kugel dishes. Personally having been raised on the sweeter variations, I have come to prefer the savory bakes more and more with each new introduction to them.
These dense yet fluffy kugels are just some of the many heartier-styled dishes that make the early fall a favorite time of the year. Whether you are celebrating the holidays this week or not, a warm kugel is a great, welcoming gesture to the fall table.
