Over the past two weeks, we've focused on ways to improve upon store bought cookie and brownie mixes. There's a simple reason: sometimes, the craving just hits. Today, we continue down that path by focusing on ways to upgrade boxed cake mix.
While cake can be a little more difficult because of the depth of poured batter before baking, there are options for add-ons that will work, and there are always plenty of ways to decorate your cake once baked!
Because of these more specific necessities when baking cake, we will not be suggesting one brand of boxed mix to start with the way we have in the previous two posts. Instead, these recipes will begin with varying cake boxes, so just pick according to the end product which you are planning for.
