Party Whites With everyone planning their family/friends/corporate parties this is the week when I field endless queries regarding the best wines for a party. There are of course near endless permutations of this answer, depending on price points, menus, regions and the like but to keep things simple I suggest the following points to guide anybody buying party wines.

1: Stick to the most popular wines
2: Offer your guests some variety
3: Spend enough to make sure the wines are delicious, so $8 to $12 a bottle

    Sletcher, I'd never heard of Wining Owl wines, but, since I am retired and have nothing better to do, I spent a few minutes web surfing and learned that this store, ALDI, carries it.

    Clicking on their store locator, it looks like there are 5 ALDI stores in Memphis. It is not clear to me that the Memphis stores carry it. I know that in some states grocery stores are not allowed to sell wine, and I have no idea whether Tennessee allows it or not.
