St Patrick's Day Food Though St. Patrick's Day originated as an Irish holiday, the corned beef eating, beer guzzling day is now shared and celebrated nationwide here in the U.S.

Whether or not you are of Irish descent, the holiday offers a perfect excuse to throw on some green clothing and cook up delicious Irish-influenced grub, from corned beef and cabbage to creamy colcannon. Pair the dishes up with some Irish Whiskey and you have a perfectly festive celebration that will last all day.

Think you don't have time for the extra effort taken into cooking traditional recipes? Think again. Plenty of the St. Pat's dishes are seriously cook-friendly, with corned beef that can cook in a slow-cooker and Irish soda bread that's ready for eating in just 45 minutes.

We've pulled together our favorite St. Patrick's Day recipes just in time for the holiday this weekend. Each of these are easy to make and incredibly delicious.

How are you celebrating your St. Patrick's Day this year? Have any Irish fare traditions we should know about? Share your stories with us in the comments below!
