The turkey is set to be stuffed, the ingredients for side dishes are on the counter, and we are ready and thankful for a day set aside for family, friends and lots of deliciousness.
Now that the main meal is ready for execution, it’s time to figure out what to have around the house as good (but not too filling) pre-dinner hors d’oeuvres. They key is to whip things up that are simple to make and won’t get in the way of all that is cooking for dinner.
Here are five tasty recipes that will keep your stomach from growling, but won’t fill you or your guests up before the big meal.

Warm Spinach and Artichoke Dip
Oh dip, how we love you! This creamy, warm and irresistible classic is a great snack to have at the ready while you are working hard on that turkey!
Smoked Salmon Triangles
Nothing says “fancy” like a nice presentation of smoked salmon around the holidays. The classic combination of cream cheese and smoked salmon is nicely topped off with some caraway seeds and chopped chives. Simply divine!
Crunchy snacks you can grab by the handful are always a hit at larger gatherings. These little munchies are jazzed up with one of our favorite holiday herbs, rosemary. With a hint of sweetness and just a touch of heat from cayenne pepper, these are good to go after just a quick roast in the oven.
Endive with Ricotta, Almonds and Raisins
Endives are a quintessential ingredient when it comes to elegant presentation and no-hassle prep. This rendition, with sweet golden raisins and salty ricotta cheese and almonds will be a lovely addition to your holiday snack spread.
Barbecue Snack Mix
More crunchy snacks, you ask? Of course! This barbecue mix is geared towards the football watchers in the house. A bit more casual, but still delicious as ever. Just mix, bake and set out for all to devour.
