Come Sunday March 17, households far and wide will bathe in the tangy aromatic pungency of that requisite St. Patrick’s day repast: corned beef and cabbage.
We take no objection in honoring that meaty, steamy, culinary lovechild of beef, ancient curing methods (think “corns” of salt), and a wandering Irish lineage. But we also figured why not poke around for other Irish-style dinners that may or may not have made their way into your repertoire?
That way, come St. Patrick’s Day, or any day you’re hit with a hankering for the variously delicate, deep, rich, and airy flavors of Irish fare, you’ll have a few more options, no luck—Irish or otherwise—necessary.
