Edible stocking stuffers for every sweet tooth

With all of the delicious baked goods being made this season, it is almost easy to forget about the amazing abundance of themed chocolate treats that hit the shelves through December. But remember we must! Especially when chocoholics are involved and expecting at least a few candy treats in their stocking each year.

From those candies that appear year round but are just dressed up in seasonal wrappers to those that are Christmas and Hanukkah specific, there are so many great chocolates and candies to purchase during this time of year. And if you're already eating pies and cookies, why not nosh on store-bought candy as well before the New Year's resolution rush sets in?
We've gathered our favorite candies of the season here for your viewing pleasure. Run out and grab some today!

What's your favorite seasonal treat?

Best Seasonal Version of a Classic: York Peppermint Patty Snowflake ($.80)

Sometimes themed products are really just regular products dressed up in a seasonal outfit, like Hershey's Kisses wrapped in green, red and white wrappers. Other times, the products take on the shape of something seasonal and actually gain a different texture profile, as is often the case with seasonal Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Like those, the York Peppermint Patty Snowflake holds a different peppermint to chocolate ratio than its year-round counterpart. Both are delicious, but this one is extra yummy!

Best Season-Only Chocolate: Norman Love Holiday Collection ($23)

Norman Love rotates its featured chocolate lines seasonally, with inspired truffle fillings honoring the iconic flavors and ingredients of holidays and months throughout the year. Come Christmas time, that means Candy Cane, Eggnog, Gingerbread and even Champagne filled truffles.

Best Chocolate Figurine: Lake Champlain Chocolate Santa ($14.50)

Standing at a little over half a foot tall, this Santa is as delicious as Santa has ever been before. This is a perfect gift for those that crave the chocolate bunnies of Easter all year round. With Lake Champlain's signature creamy chocolate, this statuesque little guy is the ultimate treat.

Best Chocolate Replacement for the Savory Snack Lover: Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co. Alehouse Cheddar Cheese ($14.50/lb)

There are two things that are beloved within the food eating world: chocolate and cheese. So, for those strange friends or family members that dislike chocolate, we recommend gifting with cheese! Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co. has some great cheeses currently in season, but we love their Alehouse Cheddar above the rest. With its remarkable yeasty taste, this is a truly interesting cheese.
