Now that we are getting into November and Thanksgiving is little more than two weeks away, cans of pumpkin are filling store shelves left and right. While pumpkin pie, with its custard-like filling and warm cinnamon aromas, is incredibly delicious and obviously seasonal, there is plenty more to do with pumpkin.

From soft baked bread to creamy pasta dishes, there is much to do with the season's bounty without relying on the pumpkin pie stand-in. With these dishes, it's important to play on pumpkin's complementary flavors other than those found in a regular pumpkin pie. This way, you'll refrain from overtiring the standard flavors before Thanksgiving Day hits.
