Mardi Gras may be over, but that doesn't mean the party stops in New Orleans. The locals behind this blog know where it's at when it comes to enjoying good food and good times in The Big Easy.

The Blackened Out team infuses its regular posts of restaurant reviews, recipes, write-ups of events and culinary adventures with down-to-earth smarts, wonderfully evocative writing and clean, crisp photography. 

Recent posts on the three-year-old site include reviews of authentic Spanish at Lola's ("Plump pieces of chicken, moist from both their own juices and the broth, and rings of sausage poked out from the sepia hued landscape of short grain rice and vibrant green peas."), the annual Lundi Gras Cookout at St. James Cheese Company, and po-boys and fried chicken at Sammy's Food Service & Deli.
