Do not let this blog name fool you.

Despite its name, this is not a food blog dedicated to sweets only. Instead, How Sweet It Is is a blog written by Jessica, a James Taylor lover (hence the name) who knows how to cook up a great meal and takes pictures to prove it.

Filled to the brim with clever posts about Jessica's daily life, and the cooking that ensues within it, How Sweet It Is is a great blog to browse when you feel like getting lost for a few hours. From the awesome foodie photography to the adorable snippets into her family and forever hungry husband, there is plenty here to keep you distracted. And when you're actually ready to start cooking, Jessica has just the right recipes for you - just don't ask her for any broccoli. We love her interesting pasta dishes like the Baked Buffalo Chicken Pasta and Whole Wheat Pasta with Arugula, Gorgonzola and Walnuts, with the latter sounding pretty awesome after the swelteringly hot days we've had on the East Coast this week.

For something a bit more snackish, try her 'crazy' Creamy Feta Dip, or dress it up in a Seven Layer Greek Dip. We also recommend throwing together her recipe for Spicy, Smokey Cashews on any upcoming afternoon spent sitting outside with a beer in hand. Not much can top the hot yet sweet nuts when it comes to bar-style snacks.

How about a summertime weekend brunch? The Grilled Corn Summer Breakfast Hash is a must try. Or if you're looking for a spin on summer veggies for a light lunch or dinner, try whipping up the Sweet and Spicy Glazed Chicken, Corn and Avocado Tostadas with Blueberry Peach Salsa. It just doesn't get much better than that on a warm weekend evening.
