Come one, come all, my beer and food adoring friends. This week’s featured blog combines two things that we know and love: that frothy, hoppy goodness of beer and recipes both sweet and savory. Who knew it could be done?
Jackie, also known as The Beeroness, does just it. Beer in literally every recipe. This really is the sweetest justice that anyone could ask for.

What makes The Beeroness so intriguing is that she has an incredible collection of appetizers, entrees, breads, sauces, desserts, etc., but also organizes these recipes by the types of beer that they use. She isn’t blindly reaching into her cooler for a cold one; she is taking the time to match the flavors of the beer with the flavors of the ingredients in her recipes.
While this may seem like a no-brainer for many, it’s amazing how often the flavor profile of an alcohol used in a recipe doesn’t accentuate the rest of the ingredients. The Beeroness does this with great ease, coming up with some truly fantastic and unique recipes.
After scanning through her appetizer section, we realized that a lot of these dishes would be amazing for football parties! Serve up a plate of the Chili Beer Chicken Wings accompanied with the Roasted Garlic Parmesan Beer Cheese Dip and you’ll be the favorite party house for every game of the season. Also check out her recipe for Jalapeno IPA Hummus to really blow your football party out of the water.
For some beer-centric weeknight meals, take a stab at the Homemade Beer Pasta, topped with Beer Chicken Piccata. Cook up a side of the Beer Braised Potatoes with Rosemary Beer Gravy and some Cheddar Beer Bread Muffins and you will have a dinner that you’ll want to make over and over again.
The Beeroness is also impressively able to make sweet desserts with this alcohol that is so traditionally associated with savory dishes. Chocolate Chip Stout Beer Nut Cookies have the sweetness of chocolate combined with the rich coffee flavor of a stout beer. Chocolate Porter Strawberry Shortcakes with Beer Whipped Cream are a revelation. While not traditional shortcakes, these are still a great take on a classic, topped with boozy whipped cream. Cheers to that!
The Beeroness has so many recipes that it can be hard to pick out favorites. I hope you get the chance to try them all and let us know what you think!
