Your Ultimate Memorial Day Barbecue Menu Memorial Day is the starting line for the marathon that is the barbecue season. It is the day that sets the tone for several different factors of the barbecue; how well you can handle the grill, how many people you can comfortably accommodate at your home for an outdoor party, etc. This week, as you rack your brain for what you should bring to your friend’s Memorial Day barbecue or what you should prepare for your own barbecue at home, take pause. We’ve got an excellent array of barbecue recipes to please all kinds of barbecue palates, from the lover of messy meats, to the hungry vegetarians, and everyone in between.

The perfect barbecue, in my mind, is made up of five main components: appetizers, meats, vegetables, starches and desserts. Your appetizers should be on the lighter side, something that will tease the palates of your hungry barbecue guests, but not fill them up completely. The meat portion is easy to have fun with, as you can go with foods strictly meant for eating with your hands, or you can fancy it up with forks and knives. Vegetables and starches are your side dishes, which should be dictated by what meat preparations you decide on. Finally we have desserts, which can be simple and light just like the appetizers, ensuring that your guests can continue to party after they are finished eating, and will not feel like taking a nap.
