Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 3 pounds Korean-style (flanken cut) beef short ribs (cut ¼ inch thick across the ribs)
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soju
  • 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 4 medium garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • 4 scallions, trimmed and minced
    • 1/3 cup Korean malt syrup
    • ½ cup soy sauce
    • ½ cup pineapple juice
