  • 2 tablespoons red onion
  • ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons fresh oregano leaves
  • 2 3/4-inch-thick boneless beef loin (strip) or rib-eye steaks
  • 1/3 cup Kalamata or other brine-cured black olives
