Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 1 cup(s) chopped onion
- 1 cup(s) celery, sliced into 1" pieces
- 2 pound(s) stew meat, cubed
- 3 tablespoon(s) cooking sherry
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon(s) sugar
- 3 tablespoon(s) tapioca

- 3 ½ cup(s) stewed tomatoes
- green pepper, sliced (optional)
- 6 carrots, peeled and sliced into 1" pieces
Preheat oven to 300°F. Place all ingredients in baking dish, cover and bake for 5 hours. During the last hour of cooking, stir and add water if stew is dry. Note: This recipe doubles easily and freezes well.
