Blade Steaks with Mushroom-Madeira Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Madeira
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 4 ounce packages sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 ½ pounds top blade beef chuck steaks
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 shallot
