Brisket with Ale BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 3 - 4 pound boneless beef brisket
  • 2 mediumonions, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 12 ounce canbeer
  • ¼ cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 clovegarlic, minced
  • + 5 more ingredients
    • ½ teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
    • 2 tablespoons cold water

1. Trim fat from meat. If necessary, cut meat to fit into a 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker. In cooker combine onions and bay leaf; add meat. In a medium bowl combine beer, chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Pour over meat.
