Bulgarian Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ cup parsley
  • 8 bay leaves
  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon dried summer savory
    • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
    • 3 tablespoons sweet Hungarian paprika
    • 3 ½ pounds boneless beef chuck
    • 10 garlic cloves
    • 4 cups onions
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 3 cups beef stock or canned broth

Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium heat. Add onions, garlic and bay leaves. Sauté until onions are golden, about 15 minutes. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Add to pot.
