  • 4 pounds short ribs, cut into 3-inch pieces
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 (1/2-inch) piece ginger, peeled and chopped
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Season ribs with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add half of ribs. Cook, turning often, until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a slow cooker.
