Country Fried Steak with Biscuits and Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch green onions, or 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 ½ cups, plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 (4-ounce) tenderized beef round steak (have butcher run them through cubing machine)
  • 1 teaspoon House Seasoning, recipe follows
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • + 16 more ingredients
    • 2 cups buttermilk
    • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
    • 1 quart whole milk
    • ½ teaspoon monosodium glutamate (recommended: Ac'cent), optional
    • 1 package yeast
    • ½ cup lukewarm water
    • 5 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • ¾ cup solid shortening (recommended: Crisco)
    • 2 cups buttermilk
    • ¼ cup black pepper
    • ¼ cup garlic powder
