Filet Mignon with Stroganov Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion
- 6 ounces dried egg noodles
- ¼ cup brandy
- ½ pound white button mushrooms
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 ¼ teaspoons salt
- 4 1 1/4-inch-thick beef tenderloin steaks (filets mignons)

- ¾ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ cup reduced-sodium beef broth
- ¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Cook noodles in a 6- to 8-quart pot of boiling salted water until just tender. Drain in a colander. Meanwhile, thinly slice onion using slicer.
