Italian Patty-Melt Hoagie
Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 2/3 cup warmed tomato sauce, for serving
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 6 ounces mushrooms, sliced (2 cups)
- 2 (6-inch) hoagie rolls
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt

- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¾ pound lean ground round
- 1 Italian frying pepper, sliced (1 1/4 cups)
Preheat oven to 325°F. Heat oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Add onion, frying pepper, mushrooms, garlic, 1/4 tsp. salt, oregano and 1/4 tsp. ground pepper.
