Moroccan Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 ¾ pounds beef tenderloin
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
  • + 7 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon lemon peel
    • 1 tablespoon paprika
    • ½ cup pitted Kalamata olives
    • 2 cups beef broth
    • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
    • ½ cup golden raisins
    • ½ cup fresh cilantro

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in heavy large saucepan over medium-high heat. Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper. Working in batches, add beef to pan and brown on all sides, about 3 minutes per batch.
