Pioneer Beef Stew

Ingredients

• 4 potatoes, cubed (medium)
• 2 pound(s) ground beef chuck, cut into 1 inch cubes
• 2 tablespoon(s) shortening, melted
• 4 cup(s) water
• 3 onions, sliced (medium)
• 2 teaspoon(s) salt
• ¼ cup(s) flour
• + 9 more ingredients
• • ½ teaspoon(s) pepper
  • ½ teaspoon(s) paprika
  • 6 carrots, sliced (medium)
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped or 1- 16 ounce can (medium)
  • 2 tablespoon(s) snipped parsley
  • 1 cup(s) whole corn
  • ¾ cup(s) green beans or lima beans
  • ½ cup(s) shelles peas
  • ½ cup(s) water

In a dutch oven, brown the meat, half at the time, in the melted shortening. Return all the meat to the pan. Add the 4 C. water, onion, salt, pepper and paprika. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
