Salt & Pepper Cheesy Beef Nachos

Ingredients

  • Toppings: diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, salsa, jalapenos, sour cream, avocado
  • 1 cup grated Colby Jack cheese
  • 1 ½ cups milk, at room temperature
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 3 Tbsp butter

    • 1 lb lean ground beef
    • One bag Kettle Brand Krinkle Cut Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper Chips

Brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain off any fat and return the meat to the pan. Add the seasoning packet and 2/3 cup water, simmering until thickened. Set aside. While the meat is cooking, make the cheese sauce. In a medium saucepan melt the butter. Whisk in the flour, salt and pepper until incorporated. Slowly add the milk, whisking until completely combined. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add shredded cheese and stir until smooth and well blended. Spread the chips in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet. Add the seasoned meat on top of the chips, then pour the cheese sauce all over the top, making sure to cover each chip. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes, just to heat everything through and slightly brown the chips. Remove from the oven and serve hot. Place about 1/4 of the nachos on a plate and pile high with your favorite toppings. Serves 4.
