Ingredients

  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 lamb shanks (foreshanks)
  • 1 28-ounce can peeled plum tomatoes, with juices
  • 2 cups ruby port wine
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 1 cup beef broth
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 8 cloves of garlic
    • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
    • 2 lemons
    • 3 fresh thyme
    • 2 to 3 large bunches, for garnish
