Tagine of Lamb and Apricots in Honey Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 pounds lamb stew meat
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon

    • 2 pounds lamb stew meat
    • 1 cup less-sodium beef broth
    • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
    • 1 cup chopped dried apricots
    • 2 cups chopped onion (about 2 medium)
    • ¼ cup slivered almonds, toasted
    • ¼ cup honey

Preheat oven to 425°.Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat. Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
