Round Steak Parmesan

Ingredients

  • ½ to 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried leaf oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dry red wine
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce

    • 1 can (15 ½ ounces} diced tomatoes
    • 3 tablespoons cooking oil or shortening
    • ½ teaspoon dried leaf basil
    • ½ cup fine dry bread crumbs
    • 1 tablespoon water
    • 1 egg, slightly beaten
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 3 tablespoons flour
    • 1 ½ to 2 pounds beef round steak, about ¾ inches thick
