Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 30 chicken wings (tips removed)
  • 4 scallions
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • + 9 more ingredients
    • ½ cup water
    • ½ cup cider vinegar
    • Salt
    • freshly ground black pepper
    • 2 cups ketchup
    • 2 teaspoons finely minced garlic
    • 2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
    • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
    • 2 tablespoons unsulfured molasses

1. Prepare the barbecue sauce ahead of time: Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring, to heat through and to blend the flavors, 10 to 12 minutes.
