  • 1 (10-oz.) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups uncooked regular grits
  • ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
  • ½ cup butter, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups chicken broth
