Toasted Almond Rice
Ingredients
- 3 oz. (1 cup) sliced almonds
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups homemade or low-salt chicken broth
- 2 cups basmati rice, rinsed and drained
- 2 large shallots, minced (¾ cup)
- + 2 more ingredients

- 1-½ Tbs. peanut or vegetable oil
- 1-½ Tbs. unsalted butter
