Chopped Liver


  • 1 ½ lb chicken livers
  • ¼ cup schmaltz or vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
  • 5 hardboiled eggs, peeled and diced (divided)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup gribenes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp minced fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
