Sweet Barbecue Chicken

Ingredients

• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon chili powder
• 2 teaspoons dried thyme
• 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
• Cooking spray
• ¾ teaspoon salt

• • 12 small chicken leg quarters (about 5 1/4 pounds), skinned
  • 1 (6-ounce) can frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed and undiluted
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper

Combine first 6 ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally. Prepare grill or broiler. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
