Ingredients

  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 2 ½ cups fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, divided
  • ¼ cup reduced-sodium tamari
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, divided
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • ¾ pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

    • ¾ pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
    • ½ cup chopped shallots (about 2 large)

    • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
