Ingredients

  • 16-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder

    • 1 ½ tablespoons garam masala (if you don’t want to buy this spice blend, google “make your own garam masala” to check out some homemade versions)
    • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
    • 2 garlic cloves, minced (garlic tutorial here)
    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • ¼ cup blanched whole almonds
    • 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
    • Salt and freshly ground pepper
    • 2 pounds chicken breasts (about 3-4 chicken breasts)

    • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
    • 1 ½ teaspoons ground coriander

    • 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
