  • 1/3 cup white Port
  • 2 teaspoons fresh chives
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound small shallots
  • 2 pounds carrots
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • 1 cup chicken broth
    • 2 teaspoons fresh dill
    • 1/3 cup mild honey
    • 1 ½ cups water

Spread carrots and shallots evenly in a 12-inch heavy skillet, then dot with butter and sprinkle with salt. Whisk together water, broth, Port, and honey and pour over vegetables.
