Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 celery
  • ½ cup Chianti or other dry red wine
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 cups canned whole Italian-style plum tomatoes
  • 1 cup low-salt chicken broth
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 2 medium carrots
    • 1 cup freshly grated pecorino Romano cheese
    • 1 medium onion
    • 4 ounces Italian sweet sausage
    • 12 ounces penne pasta
    • ½ cup fresh basil
