Perfect Rice

Ingredients

  • 3 cups low-salt chicken broth
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 cups converted white rice
  • 1 small pinch of white pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • ½ cup onion
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 1 tablespoon butter

Melt butter in heavy large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and bay leaf and sauté until onion is translucent, about 3 minutes. Stir in salt, thyme, and white pepper. Add rice; stir 2 minutes to coat. Add broth and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until rice is just tender...
