  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano leaves or dried oregano
  • Fresh basil sprigs (optional)
  • 2 cooked Dungeness crabs (about 2 lb. each), cleaned and cracked (see below)
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 onion (about 1/2 lb.), peeled and chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • + 5 more ingredients
    • 3 cups fat-skimmed chicken broth
    • 1/3 cup tomato paste
    • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves or dried thyme
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves or dried basil
