  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • 2 ounces thinly sliced ham, chopped
    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Heat waffle iron. Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir milk, egg and butter into flour mixture until just combined. Fold in ham and cheese.
