Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (3 ounces) shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 2 ¼ cups 1% low-fat milk, divided
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 4 large eggs, divided
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt, divided

    • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
    • Cooking spray
    • 2 quarts water
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    • ¾ cup finely diced ham (about 4 ounces)

Preheat oven to 375°. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Sift together 1 2/3 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and baking powder.
