Pork Braised in Milk With Apples
Ingredients
- Thyme sprigs (optional)
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 (3 1/4-pound) lean, boned pork loin roast
- 2 ½ pounds cooking apples, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 cups thinly sliced onion, separated into rings

- 2 garlic cloves, minced

- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons butter
Trim fat from pork. Heat oil and butter in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add pork, and cook 6 minutes, browning on all sides. Remove pork from pan. Set aside, and keep warm.
