Oven-Roasted Sausages with Riesling, Apples, and Pears

Ingredients

  • 3 Bosc pears, peeled, halved, and cored
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 9 sweet Italian pork sausages, pricked with a fork
  • 1⁄8 tsp. anise seed, crushed
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, halved, and cored
    • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, from about 2 to 3 oranges, or store-bought prepared orange juice
    • 2 whole cloves
    • 2 slices fresh ginger
    • 1 tsp. grated orange zest
    • 1 cup late-harvest wine, such as Riesling or Gewürztraminer

Heat the oven to 375°F. Melt the butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and cook until it is melted.
