1860 Raisin Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoons candied orange peel, finely chopped
  • 2 ¾ to 3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • Powdered Sugar Glaze

    • 1 cup water
    • ½ cup raisins
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • ¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
