Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1 c butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 t soda
  • 1 egg
  • ½ c buttermilk
  • 4 c flour
  • + 11 more ingredients
    • 2 t vanilla extract
    • 1 t almond extract
    • ½ t salt
    • Icing:
    • 3 c confectioners' sugar
    • 6 T half and half
    • 1 ½ t vanilla extract
    • 1 ½ t almond extract
    • Food colorings of your choice
    • Decorations of your choice
    • Paintbrushes

Preheat oven to 350F. Cream butter and sugar; add egg, almond and vanilla extracts and mix well. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add salt to flour.
