20-minute Pasta Sauce


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
  • ½ teaspoon hot chili flakes
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ cup dry red wine
  • 1 can (28 oz.) pear-shaped tomatoes

In a 5- to 6-quart pan, combine onion, garlic, and oil. Stir often over medium-high heat until onion is soft, about 5 minutes. While onion cooks, mince basil leaves.
