Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 ½ cups finely ground walnuts (see note)
  • About 1 cup (½ lb.) butter or margarine, at room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup apricot jam
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • ¾ cup sugar

1. In a large bowl, with a mixer on medium speed, beat 1 cup butter and the sugar until smooth. Add egg yolks and vanilla and beat until well blended.
