Ingredients

  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • Pastry Crust Dough
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ cup blanched whole almonds
  • + 7 more ingredients
    • 1 salt
    • 1 large egg
    • 3 tablespoons sugar
    • ¼ cup unsalted butter
    • 1 2-inch piece vanilla bean
    • 2/3 cup whole milk
    • 3 15.25-ounce cans unpeeled apricot halves in heavy syrup

Pour milk into small saucepan. Scrape in seeds from vanilla bean; add bean. Bring to simmer. Remove from heat. Whisk yolks, 3 tablespoons sugar and cornstarch in bowl to blend.
