Baked Mac N Cheese with Breadcrumbs and Red Onions


  • 12 ounce elbow macaroni pasta
  • 3 cups of yellow finely grated sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup of butter, softened plus 1 Tbsp for skillet
  • 1 medium red onion – diced
  • ¼ tsp. parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • 3 cups milk, if you want the casserole creamier add more milk
    • ½ cup Progresso bread crumbs
