Baked Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • 8 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cups milk
  • 5 large baking potatoes, baked
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese

    • 1 quart half-and-half
    • ¼ cup butter or margarine
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper

Peel potatoes, and coarsely mash with a fork. Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat; add onion, and sauté until tender. Add flour, stirring until smooth.
